I’m Kristen, and I started Cleaning by Design in 2020 when our community in Southwest Louisiana was shattered first by COVID, then by Hurricanes Laura and Delta. Families were drowning in chaos, and I saw it: the exhaustion, the overwhelm, the guilt of not being able to keep up.

So I loaded my trunk with maid kits and vacuums and got to work.

It was just me at first doing the walkthroughs, gathering leads, handling the marketing, the financials, the actual cleaning. Everything. But the calls kept coming because people needed more than clean floors. They needed hope. They needed relief. They needed someone to say, “I’ve got this. You can breathe now.”

We became hope dealers for SWLA families trying to rebuild.

The business grew faster than I could handle alone. So I brought on a crew, and we hauled equipment together, showed up for every home like it was our own, and gave families their peace back one room at a time.

Today, we’re a team of 9 incredible people, and I’m so damn proud of how far we’ve come. But our mission hasn’t changed: we’re here to give you permission to let go of the guilt and the mental load.
