Pay, Hours & Schedule

How much does this position pay?

We offer competitive pay based on experience and performance. Pay details are discussed during the interview process. We believe in rewarding people who show up consistently and take pride in their work — and that shows in how we compensate our team.

What are the hours? Is this full-time or part-time?

We offer both full-time and part-time positions depending on availability and business needs. Most of our team works Monday through Friday during daytime hours. We work hard to give you a consistent schedule so you can plan your life around it.

How do I get paid and how often?

Team members are paid on a regular pay schedule. Direct deposit is available. We keep payroll straightforward and on time — no surprises.

Do I need my own transportation?

Yes, reliable personal transportation is required. You'll be traveling to client locations across the Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana area, so having dependable transportation is essential for being on time and keeping your schedule. Must have auto insurance, valid driver’s license, and it must be a non-shared vehicle.

Will my schedule change week to week?

We do our best to keep your schedule consistent. As a growing company, some flexibility is helpful — but we won't throw last-minute changes at you without communication. You'll know your jobs in advance through our scheduling system.

What The Job Actually Looks Like

Do I need prior cleaning experience to apply?

No prior professional cleaning experience is required. We train every team member on our methods, products, and checklists. What we do look for is a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. We hire for character first — skills we can teach.

Do I work alone or with a team?

It depends on the job. Some assignments are solo, others are with a partner or small crew — especially for larger homes or commercial accounts. Either way, you're always connected to the team through our communication system and never left without support.

What kind of properties will I be cleaning?

We service both residential homes and commercial businesses across Southwest Louisiana. Most of our work is in private homes — busy families who count on us to show up and do a great job every time. We also serve property managers and business owners.

What does a typical workday look like?

You'll start your day with your schedule already in the system — you'll know where you're going, what service is being performed, and what's expected. Our digital checklists walk you through every job step by step. When your jobs are done for the day, you check out and you're finished. No confusion, no chasing anyone down for information.

Is there a uniform or dress code?

Yes. Our team represents the Cleaning by Design brand at every job. Wearing your uniform correctly and arriving to clients looking professional is a non-negotiable part of the role. Details are provided during onboarding.

What's the attendance policy?

Attendance is taken seriously here. Our clients depend on us showing up as scheduled, and our team depends on each other. We have a clear attendance policy that's shared during onboarding. Life happens — we get that — but communication is always required. No-call, no-shows are not tolerated.

Is there room to grow within the company?

Absolutely. We are a growing company and we promote from within. If you show up consistently, do quality work, and bring a leadership mindset — we notice. We'd rather develop our own people than hire from the outside every time a leadership need comes up.

How does the team communicate?

We use a team communication platform to keep everyone connected, share updates, and handle any issues that come up in the field. You won't be left guessing — everything important gets communicated clearly and in writing so there's no confusion.

What happens during the onboarding process?

New team members go through a structured onboarding that covers our service standards, client expectations, checklists, safety guidelines, and how to use our systems. We don't throw you into the deep end — we set you up to succeed before you ever step foot in a client's home.

Is a background check required?

Yes. All team members are required to pass a background check prior to employment. Our clients trust us inside their homes and businesses, and we take that responsibility seriously.
